It Starts With Drums
Private lessons, group classes, and workshops — in San Francisco and worldwide online.
You'll build real skill — groove, independence, feel, the pocket, the things that separate someone who hits the drums from someone who actually plays. Whatever your level, you'll get better, and it'll feel good getting there.
And somewhere along the way, most people find drumming gives them more than music: focus, confidence, a way to get out of their own head and into the moment. That part isn't a curriculum. It just happens — the way it has for players for as long as there have been drums.
Taught by Jeffrey Mince — professional touring and recording drummer, former Buddhist monk, and certified mindfulness coach. All of it comes into the room. None of it gets in the way of the groove.

TESTIMONIALS
A Different Kind of Drum Teacher

Jeffrey Mince has been a professional touring and recording drummer for over twenty years — the Nina Hagen Band, Elektra Records, and productions with Eric Valentine, Wayne Kramer, and Jacquire King. In 2009 he ordained as a Buddhist monk, and later trained as an ICF-certified mindfulness coach. He’s been teaching in the Bay Area for years, working with students from age six to sixty.
The musical and the human sides of this work are inseparable — and that’s exactly what Living Rhythm is built on.
